JOB #1 Industry Bioengineering Crew Member

Contract length: 1 month

Application Deadline: 2020-05-07

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Salary: $200.00 to $250.00 /day

The job being offered is to join our installation crew for a 1-month project in Fort McMurray From May 12th, 2020 – June 12th, 2020. The job will include planting native plants, seeding, bundling sticks and working near machinery. You do not have to live in Fort McMurray, but will be required to travel and live there for one month.

All workers will be required to stay in camp and follow strict camp rules. Meals and boarding will be paid for by Leaf Ninjas.

We’re looking for a respectful team member to join our crew that has experience working with plants, experience in an industry setting, extremely safety-focused and are prepared for 10 hour days.

They must be a hard and detail-focused worker and practices safe work.

Tasks and expectation

  • Installation of plants (plugs, #1, live stakes)
  • Native seeding
  • Installation of erosion control measures
  • Cutting branches with hand saw and pruners
  • Moving soil
  • Handling materials for installation
  • Following Leaf Ninjas strict safety protocols

Qualifications and requirements

  • Minimum of 2-year landscaping or production nursery experience.
  • 1-year experience is accepted if they have a construction or another similar field related experience
  • Steel toe boots will be worn and must be provided by the employee
  • Comfortable in remote locations and near water

Beneficial experience (not required)

  • Bioengineering experience
  • First Aid
  • HS2 Alive
  • Wilderness First Aid
  • Machine operation experience
  • Chainsaw operation experience
  • Ability to drive truck and or trailer
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Rope access
  • University or college degree relating to this field or current student

  • Safety equipment (Vest, glasses, gloves, hard hat)

JOB#2 – Calgary Installation Crew Member

The job being offered is to join our installation crew. We’re looking for a respectful team member to join our crew that loves nature, plants, and animals. They are a hard and detail-focused worker and practices safe work. We’re looking to invest in the future of our staff and grow our team, high-performance members will be compensated accordingly.

We’re looking for both full-time and part-time workers. Often our weekly hours exceed 44hrs/week for full-time workers.
